Suge Knight Says He Would ‘Slap The Sh*t Out Of’ Fellow Inmates Who Spoke Negatively About Oprah Winfrey, Despite Her Refusing To Bring Rappers On Her Show
Jailed music exec Suge Knight kept inmates in check when speaking about Oprah Winfrey.
The 58-year-old recently discussed how he used to confront those who talked down on the famed TV host during his early prison days, though he suggested he had conflicting feelings due to her stance on interviewing rappers.
Suge Knight reflected on the situation during a recent episode of his podcast “Collects Call With Suge Knight.” The Death Row founder, real name Marion Hugh Knight Jr., stated:
“I remember back in the day, doing time, when people said something bad about Oprah Winfrey. Sh*t, I got in their a**.”

Adding:
You talking about this Black woman. I fried their sh*t up, slapped the sh*t out of them—‘Don’t say nothing about this Black sister.’”
Knight continued, however, explaining that while he was defending Winfrey’s honor, she had positioned herself not to support many rising rap stars of the time. He stated:
“At the same time, Oprah wouldn’t put rappers on her show, but Oprah promoted Straight Outta Compton. Even though Straight Outta Compton tried to kill me and had me doing time right now.”
The entertainer didn’t elaborate any further on the correlation between the 2015 bio-drama and his current prison sentence, though an argument on the set of the movie did result in the hit-and-run Knight is currently serving time for. During the case’s trial, witnesses reportedly claimed that Knight got into a heated discussion with his friend Terry Carter and filmmaker Cle Sloan, subsequently following them to a burger stand where a fatal collision took place.
Security footage reportedly captured Knight as the driver and showed him running over the two men, resulting in Carter’s death. After his legal team unsuccessfully argued self-defense, Knight was sentenced to 28 years in prison.
Knight’s podcast, which he’s recording from jail with the help of Breakbeat Media, has been making headlines since its release. As we previously covered, the music professional made harrowing accusations about singer Akon during a previous episode, adding more fuel to their long-standing beef. Knight claimed the “Smack That” artist once raped a 13-year-old and sexually assaulted another teenage girl. In response, Akon’s reps denied all the allegations and made clear his intention to take legal action against Knight over the matter.
