North West has become one of the youngest artists ever to grace the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
At just 10 years old, the daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian achieved this remarkable feat with her debut track “Talking”.
Featured on Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s album “Vultures 1,” “Talking” debuted at No. 30 on the Hot 100 with 12.33 million U.S. streams.
Not only does “Talking” mark North West’s first appearance on the Hot 100, but it also positions her at No. 32 on the Emerging Artists chart.
Proud dad Kanye couldn’t contain his excitement as he took to Instagram Stories to share the news of North’s incredible accomplishment.
He reposted a snapshot from @chartdata confirming North’s debut on the Hot 100, highlighting her as one of the youngest artists ever to achieve such a feat.
Following suit, proud mom Kim reposted the news on her Instagram Stories with a simple yet heartfelt caption, “My Baby.”
The world got its first taste of North’s rapping skills during a listening party for her father’s album in December 2023. During the listening session , she reintroduces herself as “Miss Westie” with undeniable flair and attitude.
“It’s your bestie. Miss, Miss Westie. Don’t try to test me, it’s gonna get messy. It’s gonna get messy. Just, just bless me,” her lyrics go.
Earlier this month, Kanye dropped a music video for his song with Ty Dolla $ign, Talking/Once Again, that featured North. In the music video, North confidently delivers her rap verse while sporting a regal ensemble complete with a tiara and long braids.
North’s groundbreaking achievement on the Billboard Hot 100 charts solidifies her status as a rising star in the music industry. While she may not hold the title for the youngest artist to grace the charts (that honor goes to French singer Jordy at age five), she has undoubtedly left an indelible mark as one of the youngest to enter the prestigious list.
