LA LA ANTHONY GIVES SON, KIYAN INVALUABLE ADVICE ON NAVIGATING FAME

La La Anthony is not stranger to having to navigate fame, and has successfully learned how to push through its ups and downs.

Now, the former MTV personality is sharing the secrets of success as she passes on invaluable advice on navigating fame to her 16-year-old son, Kiyan.

Kiyan Carmelo Anthony, whose father is another famous face, NBA legend, Carmelo Anthony, is already a celebrity in his own right outside of that of his parents’ famous faces. The teen is truly one talented basketball player just his father, and he is one of the Mambacita clothing line’s top models. And of course, his mother is beyond proud, yet wants to make sure that her son is more than ready for the fame.

“It makes me so proud,” Anthony said in an exclusive interview with People Magazine at the season three premiere of BMF of her son’s fame. “Since I do know it, I’m able to kind of talk him through it, make sure he understands. And he’s so calm and humble and just a really great kid.”

When it comes the actual advice that she has given her son, the 41-year-old mentioned that there are specific things she has been emphasizing to Kiyan.

“Don’t listen to negative comments. Just do what makes you happy,” she said. “Just quiet the outside noise. I always tell him, ‘Quiet the outside noise. It’s not important.’”

Kiyan has amassed over 700K followers on Instagram and his following continues to grow. Anthony mentioned to People in December of last year that due to Kiyan’s increasing popularity, it has become challenging for him to move around in public as he is now being “recognized wherever he goes.”

“He’s got almost a million followers! He’s not addicted to posting or anything like that, but he loves to put up his highlights from games or his workout routines. It’s important, especially now that he’s starting to visit colleges. You want people to know what you’re doing.”

Anthony continued, “It does get hard for him sometimes when it’s time to move around. So I’m a little bit careful with him taking the subways and stuff like that. It’s kind of hard for him to navigate the city when people are like, ‘Hey, let’s take a picture!’”

Kiyan appears to be following his mother’s advice while also embracing his teenage years and enjoying every minute of the here and now.
