Joe Budden Hints That Kendrick Lamar & Drake Both Have ‘Nuclear’ Diss Tracks On The Way
J. Cole may have bowed out but the drama between the “Big 3” is far from over.
As previously reported, J. Cole received mixed reactions after taking to the stage of the recent Dreamville Festival to issue an apology to Kendrick Lamar for dissing the Pulitzer Prize winner on his newly released project “Might Delete Later.” The track aimed at the Compton rapper was in response to Kendrick Lamar bashing the other two rappers – Cole and Drake – people have put beside him in what many have labeled as the “Big 3.” Reportedly, K. Dot referring to his counterparts as bums on the “Like That” record was sparked by subliminals they threw his way on their track “First Person Shooter.”
After J. Cole waved the white flag, many wondered what Drake would do next. Well, according to rapper-turned-podcaster Joe Budden, the Canadian rapper has no plans of following in Cole’s peaceful footsteps. During a recent episode of his podcast, Joe Budden hinted that both Drake and Kendrick Lamar have follow-up diss records ready to go. He said,
“So I’mma tell you this, get out the way. Whatever little rappy sh*t you thought was going on, it’s not that, and something is coming. I think that J. Cole knows that from either Kendrick or Drake or both and it was time to bow out.”

He continued,
“I have it on good information that both sides went in the booth and came out. And what I’m hearing about both sides is that it’s nuclear. It’s up, up. I’m hearing this from people that can rap. … Speculation time is over. Debate time is over.”
Speaking on his previous feelings toward Drake, Joe Budden noted,
“I’ve been saying for a few [episodes] now that I’ve seen absolutely nothing from Drake to get me excited enough to think that he will be capable of doing what needs to be done against the likes of a Kendrick Lamar. I’m here to say that there’s no longer any need for me to instigate anything. We’re here and apparently, he did it and people heard it.”
It’s unclear when the rappers plan on dropping the rumored diss tracks, but Joe Budden’s co-stars said they heard Drake’s tune comes out on Friday (Apr. 12).
