JEEZY SEEKS PRIMARY CUSTODY OF DAUGHTER AMID DIVORCE FROM JEANNIE MAI

Jeezy is seeking primary custody of his and Jeannie Mai’s 2-year-old daughter,Monaco, amid their divorce. According to reports, the rapper wants to scrap the current custody agreement and have their daughter live with him full-time.

In legal filings obtained by TMZ, Jeezy argues that having primary physical custody of Monaco would provide her with more stability. He claims that Jeannie has largely delegated childcare responsibilities to her family, particularly during her frequent travels.

Jeezy asserts that he initially agreed to move to the basement after their separation, but Jeannie later relocated with Monaco. He accuses her of withholding Monaco from him for nearly two months.

This move comes after Jeezy previously accused Jeannie of gatekeeping their daughter, an accusation she vehemently denied just four months ago. Jeannie countered by stating that she has been accommodating all of Jeezy’s visitation requests and prioritizing safety measures, such as securely storing firearms and ensuring properly trained caregivers.

However, Jeezy maintained that Jeannie’s actions amount to gatekeeping and are hindering the development of his relationship with Monaco.

Jeezy filed for divorce from Jeannie Mai in 2023 after two years of marriage. In a statement to E! News back in October, he reflected on the decision, affirming his commitment to prioritize Monaco’s well-being.

“The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart. Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart,” he said.

“Our beautiful daughter is the best gift from our relationship and I am committed to assuring she feels the love and stability she deserves,” the artist, a.k.a. Jay Wayne Jenkins, added.
