Gunna Will Not Be A Witness For Prosecutors In Young Thug, YSL RICO Trial + Investigator Accused Of Sexually Harassing A Witness

Gunna will not be taking the stand against his fellow Atlanta rapper Young Thug in the ongoing YSL RICO case.

An update about the trial released earlier today (Wednesday, April 10th) confirmed the news, ending speculations that Gunna was going to testify.

It was first suspected that Gunna, real name Sergio Kitchens, 30, might have taken a deal to turn on his former mentor after he was released from prison in December of 2022. If you recall, Gunna and Young Thug, real name Jeffrey Williams, 32, were both arrested on RICO charges in May of that year for allegedly carrying out numerous gang-related crimes in the city of Atlanta over several years.

After spending 10 months behind bars, it was announced that Gunna would be released from jail after pleading guilty to several charges. Though the rapper’s attorneys insisted he was not working with the state against Young Thug as part of the deal, many suspected that was not the case and expected to see Gunna as a witness for the state in the future. Rumors that the “Drip Too Hard” artist had turned on Young Thug were fueled even more as he was seemingly ostracized by some of his former friends and colleagues, including Drake, Metro Boomin, and Lil Baby.

However, suspicions about Gunna testifying against Young Thug can finally be put to rest. Elsewhere in recent news about the trial, it was reported that a state investigator was accused of sexually harassing one of the witnesses via text message. The alleged assailant, Rasheed Hamilton, works for Atlanta DA Fani Willis’ office and is accused of asking a witness, identified as A. Bennet, on a date in hopes of getting her to testify against Young Thug and his co-defendants.

Bennett reportedly claimed in a recent court testimony that Hamilton referred to her as “mama” several times. One text message allegedly read,

“Hit me up if you’re bored later. We’re not gonna talk shop.”

When one of Young Thug’s attorneys asked Bennett:

“And this is February 7 of 2024, this year, when the investigator for the DA’s office is supposed to be talking to you about a case, but in fact, is calling you talking to you about going on a date. Is that true?”

She reportedly confirmed that was true.
