Ex-MSNBC Host Tiffany Cross Slams Network Executives For Alleged Mistreatment: ‘I Was Spoken To In The Most Condescending Ways’

Former MSNBC host Tiffany Cross is opening up about the horrible way she was allegedly treated while with the network.

As previously reported, in November 2022, MSNBC made the abrupt decision to cancel Tiffany Cross’ weekend series, “The Cross Connection,” after a nearly two-year run. Allegedly, the firing had to do with the political analyst’s candid commentary made on the series and elsewhere. After she was let go, Tiffany Cross released a statement, sharing that she was “disheartened” by the shocking news but her work “is not done.” She added,

“Political violence is increasing and it’s becoming inherently more dangerous to speak the truth. But, after more than 20 years in journalism, I will not stop. The attacks on me from other outlets and former hosts will never control my narrative.”

During the latest episode of her podcast “Native Land Pod,” which she hosts alongside Angela Rye and Andrew Gillum, Cross elaborated on the alleged frequent pushback she received from executives at her former network. She reportedly said,

“I want you all to know, every single week from the start of my show to the very last show I did, it was a battle. It was a battle to cover things that I wanted to talk about. The network’s philosophy was Trump, Trump, Trump. They wanted me to be part of the echo chamber.”

And continued,

“I wanted to cover things like inhumane treatment in prisons, that’s something that disproportionately impacts my community. Mental health among Black men, the erasure of Afro-Latinos in the Latino community, land battles of the indigenous, Native Americans trying to get their family artifacts back from museums right here in America. Black farmers, reaching Latino voters, things like that.”

Cross added,

“When I would fight these battles, I know ya’ll know exactly what I mean, I was spoken to in the most condescending ways. I mean, anything from being told the definition of news… I would have somebody sit across from me and explain to me how news works. I had my intelligence questioned.”

According to Cross, despite having the “highest-rated show of the entire weekend,” she faced
“constant criticism,” which was “debilitating at times” and “confusing.” She also said that she never received a direct reason for her firing but believes it had something to do with annoying “white conservatives.”
