Erykah Badu Fires Back At Social Media User Over Post Where She Jokingly Encouraged Women To ‘Cheat With A Soft Dude’
Erykah Badu said what she said. The ‘Window Seat’ singer took a jab at a social media user who didn’t like one of her posts appearing to encourage women to cheat with “a soft dude” during the 2024 Super Bowl.
It all started on Sunday (Feb. 11), when the singer-songwriter made a post on her X account, formerly known as Twitter.
“Perfect day to cheat with a soft dude. Men gone be watchin football.”
Under the post comments, some people found it funny, while others criticized the singer.
An X user said,
“makes more and more sense why you have many baby daddies and no ring.”
However, another user took it further by reposting and quoting Erykah Badu’s post.
The user added,
“You’re too old for this.”
Erykah Badu then snapped back in her own post, writing,
“Your eyes are very close together.”
As expected, it drew mixed reactions, with some people shocked, laughing, or displeased with Badu’s response.
Afterwards, the musical artist made another post saying,
“And if u mad about that tweet .. unfollow me . I don’t trust people with no sense of humor. Beat it.”
This interaction isn’t the first time Badu has gotten into it with a social media follower. In 2021, she went off on a fan after she sent her love to fellow Houston native Travis Scott in the wake of the Astroworld tragedy that left 10 people dead and more injured.
Badu wrote on her then-Twitter account,
“Bless you @trvisXX . Safe Journey to all the souls. I’m so sorry.”
Someone responded to her tweet, seemingly taking a jab at Badu’s mental health,
“NURSE SHES OUT AGAIN!!!”
Badu fired back,
“F*k u H*”
