Looking back on the beginning of their journey together, the Trance actress said becoming Isabella’s mom was “clearly meant to be.” Because Rosario’s family “knew” Isabella’s biological mom and were aware that the child was in foster care, they were determined to find her.
“With my daughter, I didn’t go to an adoption center or anything like that,” she once explained. “We looked for her. It wasn’t even a question … she’s my kid.”
Rosario’s daughter came into her life when she was just 11 years old. According to Page Six, the Rent actress adopted Isabella in October 2014. However, Rosario was extremely tight-lipped when it came to talking about her family.
“I very rarely talk about tabloid speculation and this is not an exception,” she shared during an appearance on Today in December 2014. “Mum’s the word.”
Fortunately, Rosario has started opening up more about her kiddo as Isabella has gotten older. While chatting with Women’s Health in February 2020, the actress explained why she keeps Isabella off social media.
“I think it would have been difficult to bond so late in life, and in our lives together if we’d had technology between us,” she shared. “My daughter looks me in the eye, and we talk to each other. I think that’s important.”
In December 2023, Rosario announced that Isabella was expecting her first child. “It’s very exciting,” the Ashoka actress told Page Six of gearing up to be a grandma. She told the outlet that the baby was due in 2024, and she hopes to be called “Glamma.”
